At Awakon FCU, our number one priority is our members. In the wake of the destruction from the May 20, 2022 Tornado, which devastated Gaylord, we are offering those members, impacted by the storm, additional assistance, including:

* Waived skip pay fees.

* Deferred loan payments on new Auto, RV or Boat loans for 60 days.

* Mortgage Relief Program for in house mortgages, on a case-by-case basis.

*”Rebuild With Awakon” Loan
Amount: Minimum of $500, Maximum Up to $5,000
Term: Up to 24 months with 90-day, first payment deferral
Rate: 0% for the first 90 days, then rate reverts to 5% during repayment period

Also, we are pleased to partner with neighboring Credit Unions to provide $500 Relief Grants to our members, who have been impacted by the Tornado.

Blue Ox Chapter Tornado Relief Grant Application

Credit union members, who are residents of Otsego County and have sustained severe damages resulting from the tornado and storm of May 20, 2022, are eligible to apply for a $500 grant from the Blue Ox Chapter of Credit Unions. One grant per household. Funds are limited and will be granted on a first come, first served basis. There will be 200 grants available.

All applicants must:

Be a member of a Blue Ox Chapter Credit Union in good standing, prior to May 20,2022.*

North Central Area Credit Union

Have incurred severe damage (of at least $500) to primary, residential home or vehicle.

Be 18 years or older.
*Credit Union employees, Board/Committee members and their immediate family are not eligible to apply.

Damages/Expenses that Qualify for Grant Funds:

Professional labor expenses
Heating systems
Water heaters
Electrical/mechanical
Flooring
Wall insulation and coverings
Handicap accessibility (ramps, sidewalks, etc.)
Other related damages or expenses, including vehicles
